Mercy Mutheu

Ms. Mutheu has extensive experience across all aspects of conveyancing and real estate law, advising clients on complex property transactions from inception to completion. Her practice covers property acquisitions and disposals, land registration, title transfers, leases, easements, and property financing.

She routinely acts for developers, investors, lenders, and private clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions, including developments and secured lending arrangements. She is particularly skilled in negotiating favourable terms and structuring transactions to mitigate risk while maximising value for clients.

As Head of the Commercial Department, Ms. Mutheu advises on commercial property transactions, including commercial leases, development agreements, and property investment structures. She also has significant expertise in the drafting, perfection, and registration of banking securities such as mortgages, charges, and debentures, advising both lenders and borrowers on secured lending transactions.

Ms. Mutheu is well-versed in the procedures and practices of the Kenyan land registry and related government agencies, enabling her to manage transactions efficiently, minimise delays, and ensure seamless completion.
